HCL Infosystems (HCL Insys), India's premier technology integration company has announced that Windows 2000 Professional is the operating system platform on all of the 1862 Infiniti Desktop PC's that will power the Hazard Management Information System (HMIS) in the second phase of the Hazard Mitigation & Emergency Cyclone Recovery Project of the Andhra Pradesh Government.

"Our Infiniti range of business desktops are designed to harness true power of Windows 2000, which has emerged as the platform of choice for business and e-governance applications such as the HMIS of Andhra Pradesh Government" said Mr. Rahul Singh, Manager Marketing, HCL Infosystems. When commissioned, the HMIS project shall be spread across 937 locations in Andhra Pradesh comprising mandals, RDOs, District Collectorates and the State Secretariat. The HCL Infiniti 2000 system, powered by Windows 2000 will be spread over all these locations and connected by the APSWAN. The HMIS will provide state authorities, swift and efficient access to invaluable demographic and economic information through its various modules such as the Multipurpose Household Survey (MPHS) Citizen Database, the Petition Monitoring System and the Land Records Management system.
