WARBURG PINCUS FUNDS ORBIT-E CONSULTING USD 9.25 MILLION
New Delhi, Delhi, India

Orbit-e Consulting, an international digital strategy and systems integration firm, today announced that it has recently received early stage capital from E.M. Warburg, Pincus and Co, one of the most prestigious private equity investors in the world.

Warburg Pincus has invested USD 9.25 million in Orbit-e. This is one of Warburg Pincus' largest investments in an IT services start-up worldwide. The funds would be used to build state-of-the-art infrastructure for offices in India, Europe and the US, and also fund mergers and acquisitions.

Orbit-e Consulting was founded by Rahul Chawla, ex-Managing Director of the Indian operations of Cambridge Technology Partners, the USD 650 million international systems integration and management consulting firm.

According to Rahul Chawla, President and CEO of Orbit-e Consulting, "We are really excited about our partnership with Warburg Pincus. Warburg Pincus' thoroughness in understanding our industry, its proven track record and global network established over the last four decades and its maturity in dealing with its investee companies is what made us decide in favour of going with it, as opposed to the numerous other funding offers we received."

Orbit-e Consulting's unique business model provides for an end-to-end service offering. It extends the model of a full-service provider (FSP) by helping clients not only conceptualize/reinvent businesses and build them, but also continuously evolve their business models. By leveraging its unique methodologies - Orbit-e-ICE®, Orbit-e-SPEED® and Orbit-e-RHYTHM®, the firm believes that it can rejuvenate existing businesses rapidly and create sustainable shareholder value.

While talking about this business model, Mr Chawla said, "We believe that today there is no firm globally that is offering a similar end-to-end service like ours. Warburg Pincus' investment in us is yet another validation point that our business model is unique, as our model delinks the linear relationship between headcount and revenues.

Talking about the funding, Dalip Pathak, Managing Director of Warburg Pincus, Singapore, said, "We are delighted to be associated with Orbit-e Consulting whose business model is a clear response to emerging customer needs worldwide. We believe that Orbit-e has the potential to define a new consulting paradigm. We look forward to working with this high-energy global company."
