Joining the popular vertical version, RF IDeas announces the horizontal model of the pcProx Nano. With users now having the choice between vertical and horizontal models, this small but powerful badge reader paves the way for flexibility in the numerous applications for authentication, tracking, audits, security and more. For mobile workers on the go who must comply with authentication and access policies, the pcProx Nano enables error-free identification with a simple wave of the badge. The tedious task of typing usernames and passwords to access multiple applications is eliminated while still complying with security policies.

This compact new horizontal badge reader also paves the way for OEM integration with tablets, all-in-one PCs, keyboards and other critical hardware. Like the vertical reader, the horizontal pcProx Nano is small enough for the port cover to close in certain hardware. In addition to OEM integration, the horizontal pcProx Nano is used in applications where a recessed USB enclosure requires a flat profile.

Weighing just 0.14 ounces, the ultra-compact size and weight opens the door for a multitude of applications in healthcare, government, public safety, enterprise and more. The pcProx Nano reader is backward compatible and easily integrates into existing 125 kHz proximity badge systems.

Tod Besse, Vice President of Sales, RF IDeas, Inc.

“Our partners are very excited about this new addition to our badge reader portfolio. Now with the pcProx Nano available as both a horizontal and vertical form factor, the variety of applications and integration opportunities has increased significantly. This product opens up expansion into other markets.”
