IT&E Overseas in Guam Offers Advanced Wireless Voice Services Powered by Kodiak Networks; First Commercial Offering of Global Press-to-Talk Services in the Pacific Islands
3GSM Asia Conference

Harmon, Guam

Kodiak Networks, the leading provider of advanced wireless voice systems, and IT&E Overseas, a full-service telecommunications company headquartered in Guam, announce the commercial availability of IT&E Wireless Press2Talk Service. A pioneer in offering innovative telecommunications services, IT&E can now provide global press-to-talk capability for all its wireless subscribers, including those who roam every day.

Using IT&E Wireless Press2Talk Service or "P2T," the company's subscribers can -- for the first time-see who is available to receive a real-time wireless call on their handsets. While other services offer presence capability, no other technology supports this instant "availability" feature. In addition, IT&E subscribers can take advantage of Kodiak-enabled features, including direct contact management on their phone and instant calling to individuals and groups. With three times more cell sites than any other provider in Guam, IT&E provides superior island-wide voice coverage. P2T service can be added to a subscriber's existing wireless plan for one convenient monthly rate.

"With P2T services, IT&E continues its pioneering tradition of providing innovative communications services to the people of Guam," said John Borlas, IT&E Overseas president. "Subscribers will be able to initiate Press2Talk calls with personal and group contacts and easily connect with users on neighboring islands, across Asia and around the world. Kodiak's capabilities provide IT&E with a powerful competitive tool to attract and retain customers."

IT&E's P2T service is powered by the Kodiak Real-Time Exchange(TM) (RTX) System. The standards-based, all-IP, packet-switched Kodiak RTX System enables instant voice services with integrated P2T capability and works on all air interfaces, including CDMA, GSM and UMTS.

"IT&E's deployment of advanced P2T services offers Guam consumers and businesses a premium choice in instant, global voice services," said Craig Farrill, president and CEO, Kodiak Networks. "Subscribers will be able to consolidate multiple devices for personal, corporate and P2T wireless services on a single, convenient handset."

IT&E is the fourth wireless carrier worldwide and the first in the Asia/Pacific region to deploy Kodiak's RTX System. Cellcom and ALLTEL, headquartered in the United States, and Orange S.A., based in Europe, previously announced commercial deployments of the highly scalable system.
