HCL InfiNet, the new Internet services subsidiary of HCL Infosystems, today announced the launch of its value added Internet services in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Noida, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. The service now available in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai, will soon be made available across India in 42 cities making HCL InfiNet one of the largest ISP in India.

HCL InfiNet has been ranked as one of the best ISPs by a survey conducted by India's leading technology magazine – CHIP. The survey reviewed the features and performance of 37 ISPs from eight cities around the country. HCL InfiNet was also rated as the best on support services provided to the customers.

HCL InfiNet offers a host of value added services including a centralized round-the-clock customer support helpdesk and a Network Operations Centre to provide pre-emptive customer care. It offers a high bandwidth service backbone, an international standard port to subscriber ratio and fiber optic connections for the last mile at major locations. The entire network is voice-enabled and convergence ready. At the core of this sophisticated infrastructure are high availability servers with built in redundancy. Other unique service features that HCL InfiNet will offer through its global alliances are national and international roaming access and a secure payment gateway.

The strategic intent of HCL InfiNet is to move up the value chain of service offerings, starting with basic services such as Consumer Access, Hosting and Co-location and Virtual Private Networks (VPN) leading to advanced services such as Application Service Provider (ASP) services and B2B digital exchange networks.

The company has drawn up plans to invest upto Rs 125 crores and is targeting a subscriber base of over 100,000 within a year. A major share of this is expected to come from the existing relationships of HCL Infosystems with more than 5000 corporates in India. Besides HCL Infosystems has the largest installed base of personal computers in India cutting across the corporate and consumer segments. The service will be available in a wide range of options to suit the requirements of diverse consumer segments.

The charges for a 10 hours access pack is Rs 99 going up to Rs 2,999 for one year unlimited access, the service comes with the promise of delivering the committed Quality of Service (QoS) and Committed Information Rates (CIR), backed by its investments in best-in-class technologies.
