Government of Kerala Kickstarts Countdown to Global Investor Meet 2002
Logo Symbolises Kerala as the Land of Infinite Opportunities

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India

The Kerala Government today officially announced the launch of preparatory activities towards Global Investor Meet (GIM), with the unveiling of the "Land of Infinite Opportunities" logo. The logo was released by Sri P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries, Social Welfare and IT, in the presence of Sri M M Hassan, Minister for Non-Resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA).

The GIM, slated for November 2002, is the first ever initiative of its kind undertaken by the State Government, and shall be the culmination of a massive investment drive to the State.

Mr Jiji Thomson IAS, Managing Director, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, the nodal agency for GIM 2002 said, "We believe that we need to create and reinforce the positive aspects of Kerala as the land of infinite opportunities to the investing fraternity. Communicating this intent is going to be a critical part of our task and we feel a synergistic and consistent approach in our communications across all media will help us achieve this. We are embarking on a major communications initiative to project the various opportunities in Kerala and are confident that this will go a long way towards making the state of Kerala an attractive proposition to investors worldwide. The logo effectively communicates the essence of Kerala."

The official GIM logo and tagline depicts Kerala as a land of infinite opportunities. This has been graphically represented by the creative usage of the symbol of infinity, exemplifying endless and unlimited possibilities that Kerala has to offer to its investors. The union of the green and blue colours symbolises the union of opportunity and possibilities that Kerala has to offer the world. The starting point of this union will be at the Global Investor Meet 2002.

The new government, which took charge in May 2001, has sent out strong signals about evolving pro-enterprise, pro-investor policies and for attracting investment mainly in the Private Sector.
