Ford India showcases a wide spectrum of exciting cars at Auto Expo 2002
The No Boundaries theme evokes a 'can do' spirit with endless possibilities

New Delhi, Delhi, India

Ford India today unveiled a wide range of exciting cars from the Ford Motor Company stable at the Auto Expo 2002, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. These cars will be showcased at the Ford No Boundaries pavilion (Hall No. 3, Gate No. 1) until January 22, 2002. Designed by renowned art director Sabu Cyril, the Ford pavilion promises to provide an invigorating experience of unleashing the power of imagination with fun to drive and stylish products on display.

The Ford 'No Boundaries' pavilion displays a scintillating preview of the most exciting products from Ford Motor Company. The cars on display include the Ford Ranger Splash, Ford Escape, Ford Mondeo, Ford IKON ZXi, Ford IKON SXi, Ford IKON Cross Trac and Ford IKON racing car. Each vehicle on display has a unique pavilion design and backdrop that depicts an active lifestyle with the best product package of stylish looks and excellent drive dynamics suited for all terrains.

Inaugurating the Ford pavilion, David Friedman, Managing Director and President, Ford India, said, "Ford’s journey into the Indian market has been rather exciting with the Ford IKON emerging as the world car from India and the Ford Mondeo winning rave reviews from customers and experts alike. At this year’s Auto Expo, we intend to keep the momentum going by offering the Indian consumers a preview of the most exciting range of Ford vehicles."

Added Randy Shockley, Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, "The No Boundaries theme is the first ever trend setting idea in the automobile industry that brings to fore the fun to drive and can do spirit of all Ford vehicles - a hallmark of the Ford brand. The unique design and settings for each vehicle ranging from the Rocky mountains to the Amazon forests to the sandy beaches showcase the choice of vehicles that Ford has to offer for all terrains and lifestyles."

The Ford pavilion displays a wide array of leading Ford vehicles from various segments, such as the Ford Escape - currently the most successful light-duty sport utility vehicle in the overseas market; to the versatile Ford Ranger Splash, one of the safest and toughest pick-trucks on the road. Concept cars on display include the futuristic Ford IKON Cross Trac styled by world-renowned auto stylist Dilip Chhabria and the sporty racing car that accentuates the versatility of the Ford IKON with a reinforced body structure.

All these wonders from Ford, including the Ford Mondeo and Ford IKON 2002, will form an integral part of the sensational highlights of the Ford pavilion. These include a three-dimension checkered backdrop that makes the Ford IKON racing car blend into it so that it almost looks invisible; and a rain forest zone at the Ford Escape pavilion where a human wall backdrop of greenery and trees suddenly changes into a picturesque scenery of butterflies and flowers.

The Ford pavilion does not confine itself to automobiles on display but evokes a lifestyle which is more in tune with the present day trends. The pavilion will be action packed offering a variety of entertainment to visitors, including dance performances, fashion shows, celebrity conducting contests and performance of celebrated illusionist Satish Deshmukh. During the Auto Expo 2002, Ford senior executives will also address industry related conferences and seminars.
