Ford India launches 'My Ford' - a web-based customer relationship initiative

Ford India Limited has launched a unique web-based customer relationship initiative offering its customers direct connectivity to the company. Aptly named 'My Ford', the initiative offers Ford India customers a personalised and secure web page through www.myford.india.ford.com that will manage all aspects of their vehicle ownership experience.

'My Ford' will offer unique features such as maintenance schedules, service logs, service and insurance renewal alerts, and access to trusted advise on dealer contact information, driving and safety tips, do-it-yourself pointers, etc.

Launching 'My Ford' in India, Randy Shockley, Vice President - Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India, said, "Customer satisfaction has always been a top priority at Ford India. This is our special way of making our customers more welcome into the Ford family by offering them a personal parking space that will equip them with a wealth of information about their vehicle and driving experience."

The 'My Ford' customer relationship programme is currently being rolled out in the Asia Pacific region and India is among the first few countries where this initiative is being launched. The IT platform for 'My Ford' has been developed by Ford Information Technology Services India (FITSI), the software development center for Ford's Asia Pacific operations and the IT team at Ford India has customised the programme to suit the Indian requirements. In a significant development, FITSI will also provide IT support for this initiative in other countries in the Asia Pacific region. The 'My Ford' initiative will be rolled out in South Africa and Australia, after India.

In addition to the valuable resources, 'My Ford' will also offer the Ford customers an exclusive communication link to Ford India Limited in the form of survey questions and comment forms. This feature will ensure that the customers' opinions and suggestions promptly reach Ford India's qualified experts. 'My Ford' will also allow users to upload images of themselves and their vehicles, enhancing the personalised look and feel of the page. The Ford customers will also gain access to special promotional offers on Ford products and services through 'My Ford'.

'My Ford' will enable Ford India to build an online community of Ford customers by offering enhanced value-additions and after-service. The database management will also help Ford India get a greater consumer insight, thereby enabling the company to anticipate and meet customer requirements. In the near future, 'My Ford' will evolve into a fully developed IT platform for interaction between Ford India, its dealers and customers.

"The 'My Ford' initiative is yet another testimony from Ford India that there are no boundaries when it comes to offering customers the very best of products, performance and service, and gaining from it," added Shockley.
