Allied Domecq Tempts the Palate of Indian Connoisseurs With Mumm's Champagne
A Sparkling Spirit That Spells Exclusivity and Excellence

New Delhi, Delhi, India

Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine (I) Ltd, a leading spirits and wine company, today announced the launch of Mumm's champagne in India. Mumm, the third largest champagne brand in the world with a yearly production of over eight million bottles, is the toast of wine lovers across the globe, who swear by its impeccable taste. Now Allied Domecq's Indian patrons, too, can savour this classic bubbly.

Its delightful flavour has attracted many celebrated artistes, designers, filmmakers and painters. They created posters and banners for their favourite brand. The renowned Japanese painter, Leonard Foujita, designed the logo of Mumm's Rose, which still adorns the bottles of this delectable drink. In the late nineteenth century, Mumm's Cordon Rouge champagne was decorated with the famous red ribbon, as a tribute to the Légion d'Honneur.

Initially the champagne will be available at select outlets such as five star hotels and airlines. Allied Domecq plans to expand the market network in a phased manner.

Announcing the launch Arun Seth, Vice President, International Trade, Allied Domecq, Spirits & Wine (I) Ltd said, "It has always been our endeavour to offer the most delectable products from our international portfolio to the Indian consumers. The introduction of this exclusive brand once again reiterates our commitment to perfection.

Mumm's champagne is viewed as a symbol of celebration, worldwide. It is an inherent part of all historic events and occasions. I hope our Indian patrons, too, will revel in the unique richness of its taste."

Mumm is a brand that spells style and exclusivity, mingled with passion. In a fitting tribute to the spirit of dynamism that it embodies, Mumm's Champagne has been chosen as the official drink of the Formula One podium.

A family of German wine merchants--of exalted lineage-created this unique brand in the first half of nineteenth century. The Mumm brothers owned vast stretches of vineyards at the heart of the Champagne region in France. Today, the production area of Mumm's champagne has grown several fold, ensuring that the cellmaster has a broad range of supplies at his disposal. Now Mumm's cellars contain over 25 million bottles of the bubbly, carved into 25 Kilometers of chalk. All this painstaking effort culminates into the irreproachably consistent taste of Mumm's champagne.

Mumm is the world's third ranking champagne brand, synonymous with excellence and quality since 1827. The champagne is recognised as a leading grand marque with a reputation built by the quality of both its non-vintage bruts and select vintage wines.
