Tata Capital’s ‘India4India’ Survey Identifies Basic Healthcare and Illiteracy as the Top Challenges That India is Facing
The online survey urged respondents to vote for major challenges impacting India’s growth

  • Basic Healthcare & Illiteracy are the most concerning issues in India with 18.74% votes for each
  • Food Scarcity is voted next as one of the top issues in India, with 12.76%
  • Close on the heels, is Child Rights in India voted with 11.17% votes
  • Followed by Women Empowerment with 10.87% votes
  • Pollution comes next when it comes to the major issues in India, with 10.67% votes
  • Rural development with 8.67% votes features in the top issues concerning India
  • Ending with the issue of Water Scarcity with 8.37% votes 
Tata Capital, the financial services arm of the Tata Group, as part of its Do Right initiative, concluded a first-of-its-kind Survey to identify the major challenges facing our country today. The “Tata Capital India4India” Survey was conducted online on the website – www.doright.in & saw voting from more than 5000 respondents across the country. The top five challenges that emerged as the most concerning for the Indian public were Basic Healthcare, Illiteracy, Child Rights, Women Empowerment and Food Scarcity.
 

The main objective of the Survey was to take a peek into society’s perception of the macro issues facing the nation, highlight these challenges using the digital medium under the Do Right initiative. By providing a platform for dialogue for citizens who have voted for the major challenges faced by India, the Do Right initiative hopes to bring about a deep awareness about these challenges and to give rise to a desire in the people of India to do the right thing.

Commenting about the impact of the “Tata Capital India4India” survey in a recently held discussion, Dr. Bino Paul, a noted academician and professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences said, “I am delighted  to see the survey conducted by Tata Capital under their Do Right initiative that inspires and urges people to be consciously involved in resolving some of the challenges we have seen here today. It is interesting to see the result generated by the “Tata Capital India4india” Survey that points towards the basic needs of a human life cycle with priority on healthcare and illiteracy”.
 
Basis the top 5 challenges revealed in the “Tata Capital India4India” Survey, the next leg of Do Right initiative will aim to highlight these challenges and raise awareness and public participation via the powerful medium of story-telling.
