New Delhi, India:  Former Supreme Court Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri, who is the Chairperson of IAMAI’s Grievance Redressal Board (GRB), formed as a part of the Digital Publisher Content Grievances Council (DPCGC), will deliver the keynote address at Pixels 2021 -- a conference centered around the growth of the digital entertainment sector. Justice Sikri will deliberate upon the evolving legal framework for the digital entertainment sector. He will touch upon the elements required for the creation of a stable legal and regulatory framework for the growth of the industry. The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to a spike in digital media consumption, bringing to the fore the need for a predictable regulatory regime for digital entertainment space. Propelled by better networks, digital connectivity and smartphones, the nascent digital entertainment industry is poised for aggressive growth. India’s OTT market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 28.6% over the next four years to touch revenues of $2.9 billion, according to PwC.

The virtual conference Pixels, scheduled for 14 December & organised by IAMAI, will deliberate upon the business and technology side of the digital entertainment sector with respect to OTT platforms, production houses and content distributors. The summit will address the challenges in creating and monetising quality video content and explore how to encourage creativity and diversity in a responsible way.

Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce (I&C) Department & Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C), Government of Telangana will also speak at the event.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Digital Entertainment - Reaching a New Peak’.
