Adhata Trust Partners with Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025 for the Senior Citizen Run

Adhata Trust, a committed NGO for senior citizen welfare, successfully partnered as the Institutional Partner for the Senior Citizen Run (SCR) at the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025. Held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, the run witnessed the participation of over 1800+ senior citizens, embodying the spirit of resilience and active aging with the theme, ‘Change Began Here #HarDilMumbai.’

The event commenced at 7:00 AM from outside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), with senior citizens from across the region coming together to celebrate life, vitality, and community spirit. Among the participants were an inspiring 95-year-old and an energetic 91-year-old, proving that age is no limit to staying active and living life to the fullest. Many participants battled challenges such as knee and joint issues, dementia (forgetfulness), or the need for walking aids, yet their unwavering determination to complete the run was a testament to the incredible resilience and spirit of the senior community.

Speaking about the event, Mr. Arun Nanda, Founder of Adhata Trust, said, "The Senior Citizen Run is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of life, strength, and the positive aging of our senior community. Adhata Trust’s partnership with the Tata Mumbai Marathon reaffirmed its commitment to promoting positive aging and empowering the senior community. The run provided a platform for seniors to inspire and be inspired, fostering a sense of belonging and vitality.

Currently, Adhata Trust supports over 500 senior citizen members across 15 community centers in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and soon, Panvel. Through initiatives like the Senior Citizen Run and annual events such as World Elders’ Day, Adhata Trust continues to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the elderly while providing opportunities for them to regain self-reliance and confidence.

The Trust also fosters a nurturing environment by organizing engaging events and encouraging family and friends to join in celebrating and supporting senior citizens.
