Swatch launches spring/summer 2001 collections in India

Swatch, the flagship brand of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch manufacturing group, launched its Spring/Summer 2001 collection in India. In Delhi, the collection is displayed at the exclusive Swatch store in Vasant Vihar, Swatch kiosks, and leading retail stores across the city.

Exciting, surprising, thrilling and entertaining, the Swatch brand places emphasis on the look of its product design. The new Swatch Spring/Summer selection speaks the language of fashion; ready for arrival…on the wrist, the shoulder, and the body.

Speaking on the occasion, Alok Dubey, Marketing Manager, Swatch, India, said, "The Spring/Summer 2001 is another attempt by Swatch to change the habits of people around the world with joyful provocation and innovative approach in product. Our enthralling new products embody the fresh, exciting and with-it spirit of Swatch."

From the decorative straps to a slim carry pouch, and even a bikini bottom, this collection says YOU! Tracolla is the bright yellow watch along the long shoulder strap of a see-through, zip-closure carry-pouch. The pouch is the right size for whatever else one may need to carry! Persian World reflects ancient times but dresses you for modern city streets. A salmon pink textured strap is the subtle backdrop for swirling embroidered thread. Treasured colored Arabic numbers with an abstract twist are set against a powder pink. More than just a good-looking watch, Swatch is a world of experiences.

Nrgtik! Spells techno, sport, industrial, art, and trendy. Making this message totally clear is the bold definition on the fast moving coral stripe along the strap. Swatch has tied up with Sanjeev Bijli of Priya Exhibitors, for the North-East region, to distribute the brand through traditional and non-traditional outlets and develop exclusive Swatch stores across the region. 

At the launch of the collection in Mumbai, city-based celebrities from different walks of life 'chose their Swatch' at Watches of Switzerland, a leading watch store in the city. The watch most suited to their personality and attitude. The 'social wardrobing' exercise is a global Swatch concept, to mark the launch of a new collection.
Swatch entered India January 2000 and today has presence in over 70 outlets across eight cities. Swatch outlets are designed for a unique and novel interface with its customers using innovative retailing concepts, which include kiosks, coastlines and non-conventional outlets.
