SPL WorldGroup Supports Universal Application Network
Integrated Solution Increases Operations Efficiency, Increases Return On IT Investment, Accelerates Time-to-Revenue, and Significantly Reduces Cost of Implementation

Calif., Morristown, N.J., San Mateo, United States

SPL WorldGroup, the leading provider of customer management solutions to the global energy industry, Thursday announced its support for Universal Application Network -- the industry's first standards-based, vendor-independent application integration solution. Siebel Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:SEBL), the world's leading provider of eBusiness applications software, recently launched the Universal Application Network in conjunction with industry-leading integration server vendors and systems integrators.

As part of this endorsement, SPL WorldGroup plans to provide out-of-the-box integration of its CorDaptix(TM) product with the business processes defined within the Universal Application Network. The integrated solution will provide customers with a business process integration solution that streamlines complex inter-software workflows, accelerates time-to-revenue, and significantly reduces implementation costs.

Universal Application Network takes a standards-based, vendor-independent approach to the design and development of end-to-end business processes that are executed by market-leading integration servers. In addition, these business processes are application independent and can be deployed across a diverse set of applications across multiple divisions and business units. The result is a vendor-independent architecture that dramatically reduces the need for customization, minimizes complexity, speeds deployment, and delivers a low total cost of ownership. SPL WorldGroup's support for the Universal Application Network is an evolution of the current integrated solution between its CorDaptix application and Siebel eEnergy. The joint solution allows real-time access to billing information, resolution of customer billing inquiries, and metering and settlement processing; it also enables the use of billing and user profiles for targeted up-sell and customer-retention marketing.

"SPL WorldGroup is dedicated to maintaining our flawless record of 100% success in integrated customer management solution implementations," said Guerry Waters, Sr. Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy for SPL WorldGroup. "Our commitment to Universal Application Network means we can further extend our integration with Siebel eEnergy to include complete process workflows that span multiple software product functions. Our clients will benefit from business processes that manage the customer interaction across the enterprise, allowing them to better serve their customers."

SPL WorldGroup's support for Universal Application Network enables the two companies to provide a workflow-integrated, off-the-shelf solution. A diverse set of functions are automated and streamlined to ensure accurate results with minimal user involvement. The seamless integration of Siebel eEnergy with SPL's CorDaptix allows companies to manage customer life-cycle processes efficiently -- from creating prospect interest through winning the contract, delivering the service or product, billing, processing payments, and even following up on delinquent debt. The combined offering gives energy companies a unified view of their customers' accounts that can enhance thecustomer experience and improve customer retention.

"The ability to seamlessly execute end-to-end processes that integrate customer acquisition, retention and management with contract management, fulfillment, billing, invoicing and credit and collections has become critical to organizations today," said Jeff Scheel, Vice President and General Manager, Alliances, for Siebel Systems. "The integration of CorDaptix with the Universal Application Network results in a customer-focused solution that increases visibility, business flexibility and operational efficiency across the enterprise. The solution will enable energy retailers and distributors to quickly and efficiently bring products to market, acquire and retain customers, support a wide range of billing options, and maximize revenue."

SPL WorldGroup is a Siebel Premier Software Partner. Customers leveraging the joint SPL WorldGroup and Siebel Systems solution include Electricite de France, npower and TXU.
