Mrs. Selena Bijli, Trustee, PVR Nest has won the prestigious 23rd Bharat Nirman Award for ‘Excellence as a Super Achiever of Today's India' for her enormous contribution in Social Services. The award was presented at a ceremony held at The Sirifort Auditorium on August 21st'2011, New Delhi. Ms. Deepa Menon, Vice President- CSR & Corporate Communication received the award on her behalf.
A salutation to the undying spirit of the human endeavor to continuously excel, the awards aims to recognize and reward the individual's excellence and exemplary achievements in the genres of Business, Media, Social Welfare and Justice, Science & Technology, Arts, Politics and Entertainment, culminating with the Icon of The Year Award.
On winning the Award, Mrs. Bijli said, "I feel delighted to receive this award. It is always encouraging to get appreciation for your work however, I believe we are still growing with each passing day and there is still a lot to learn and deliver to the society and country. I am grateful to the jury members for recognising our efforts and having faith in us. We take pride to be seen as an organization, since the last six years, has been putting in focused initiatives for health, education, capacity & skill building of more than 1 lac children from diverse backgrounds. At PVR Nest we are constantly motivated to deliver and contribute to the growth of the society.
The list of awardees also includes many other big names like- Mr. Chetan Bhagat (Writing), Ms Neelam Pratap Rudy (Entrepreneurship), Dr. D R Saini (Education), Dr. Sabhyata Gupta (Medicine), Mr. Harikant Singh (Entrepreneurship), et al.
The jury panel for the award comprised of eminent Bharatnatyam dancer & Padma Shri Ms. Geeta Chandran and eminent health advisor and educator.
